Being an entrepreneur is without a doubt just as rewarding as it is challenging. Being a master of your own fate entails doing things your way which comes with a huge freedom, but also an entire list of risks, worries and strains. In fact Entrepreneurs are 50% more likely to suffer from mental and psychological diseases.
Adding a pandemic, economic instability and social isolation to the mix intensifies the mental strain and risks massively. On top of managing your own health, founders – who might still be fairly inexperienced as a leader – has to understand and manage their employees concerns and fears.
The only good thing about is that even though you might feel alone, you’re not. Remember the 50% from above. In collaboration with business psychologist Cecilie Willer, PreSeed Ventures have been developing a Mental Health program for a group of founders in their portfolio recently. In this talk Cecilie shares insights and tools from the program and goes through practices managing your mental health as a founder.
