About the Event
When you set out on your startup journey, aiming to create the next Danish tech unicorn, you probably didn’t think of only selling your product/service in our small Danish kingdom, did you? Despite most likely having global ambitions in your dreams, these ambitions should be taken from dreamland and implemented in your strategy from day 1: The preparations for international scaling should start right around the time you begin thinking about building that startup of yours. Preferably even before. And while there’s no one-size-fits-all formula for scaling out of our beloved kingdom, we have saved you the hassle of analyzing each and every succesful scaling story by collecting a list of common denominators that successful scale-ups did in their earliest stages when scaling internationally. And those are exactly what we want to share with you at our next StartupTalk.
In Shape to Scale?
Everybody knows that Usain Bolt didn’t break the world record in his first run; he built one of the best bodies on the planet through years of training and optimization. At PreSeed Ventures, we believe the same is true for your international scaling journey. That’s why we’ll be talking about the prerequisites of international scaling and what you can do in the earliest stages of your startup to set yourself up for world domination later.
Scaling a business internationally is as exciting as it’s challenging. In fact, it’s so challenging that experts named it ‘the second valley of death’. And if you need proof of why you should listen up, the numbers speak for themselves; only 0,4% of startups succeed in scaling. Spoiler alert: You’re going to need the right team, culture, space, and terminology. Oh, and a scalable business.
We’ll go through the do’s and dont’s with Matias Dalsgaard, founder and CEO of GoMore, and Investment Director Anders Kjær, Investment Director at PreSeed Ventures. Business Angel and External Lecturer at CBS, Nicolaj Højer Nielsen, will also be joining us and give a speed lecture on the topic.
