TechBBQ – Scandinavia’s biggest tech summit for and by the startup community – is without a doubt the place to meet future investors, strategic partners, like-minded souls and to learn a thing or two. Yet again, we’ll be hosting a special TechBBQ edition of PreSeed Academy with the topic revolving around boards. As a startup, it may be difficult to maneuver around the questions of when the right time is for you to set a board, and not least to run it.
The law of attraction is applicable in many startup areas and boards are no exception. Not only can the right board members be transformative with crucial advice and access, they can also help attract other top-tier board and team members. A board can be a secret growth weapon in any startup, not least early stage, where the team is small and extra hands on deck can be invaluable. It can also be one big waste of time, if the potential value isn’t harvested. This edition of PreSeed Academy zooms in on how founders in early stage startups run and work with their board of directors to drive value.
Director of Talent in PreSeed Ventures, Mads Klarskov Petersen, who’ve helped hundreds of founders with setting and working with their board shares his secret recipe to doing it right. One of the founders who’ve benefitted from this recipe is Dennis Kayser, CEO and co-founder in Forecast. In this talk he gives out hands-on learnings on running his board. Serial-entrepreneur Nicolaj Højer will as always hold their hand on stage and make sure, you get the answer to important questions like; what to focus on when setting the board? What is the right mix of competencies? How do you harvest tangible value from a board? How do you continuously keep your board engaged? What are the key tactics and tools to working with a board? Which pitfalls should you avoid?
Since this is a special edition at tech summit TechBBQ, it can only be accessed with a valid TechBBQ ticket. We are handing out a limited number of TechBBQ tickets giving you the opportunity of attending both our StartupTalk as well as all of the other valuable events at TechBBQ. We can’t make space for everyone, so you need to register at Eventbrite, but it won’t mean you’re secured a ticket.
